The Utah Hockey Club will have to close out their game against the Panthers a man down on their blue line.
Olli Maata was ruled out of Friday`s game against Florida after suffering a lower-body injury, the team announced.
It`s unclear how Maata suffered the injury, but he left the game in the second period and was ruled out for the start of the third.
He played 6:17 of ice time and had one hit before exiting the game.
The 30-year-old defenceman was acquired in a trade from the Detroit Red Wings in October. In 62 games with Utah, he has two goals and 13 assists, averaging 20:21 of time on ice per game.
Over his 12-year NHL career, the Finland native has 42 goals and 150 assists in 753 games split between five different franchises.
