England`s head coach, Thomas Tuchel, has indicated that he will not compromise on player selection for national duty, despite potential concerns from Premier League managers.

Tuchel suggests that his Premier League counterparts do not prioritize the needs of international teams when managing their own players.

Tuchel plans to field a strong team for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Latvia at Wembley.

He stated that his coaching staff will not be overly concerned with rotating players based on club schedules. He pointed to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta`s decision to play Declan Rice in a Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven, even with a significant first-leg lead.

Tuchel commented, “Considering Declan Rice played in the second leg for Arsenal after they were leading 7-1 from the first leg, it didn`t seem like they were giving our needs much thought.”

“Therefore, I don’t believe we need to overthink this from our side.”

“My priority is the well-being of the players, and we consider the overall schedule. However, it would send the wrong message to suggest resting players now because of upcoming club commitments.”

“We have an important qualifier to play, and we will prioritize our objectives. We maintain communication with the clubs and closely monitor player fitness levels. We will not take any unnecessary risks that are unprofessional.”

Tuchel recalled an instance where Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, was reportedly furious after John Stones sustained an injury following two starts in quick succession for England under Tuchel’s predecessor, Gareth Southgate.

However, Tuchel asserted that during his tenures at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich, he never requested players to skip international duty, even when managing players like Harry Kane.

He added, “This international break falls at a critical juncture of the season for clubs.”

“Clubs are competing for league titles and Champions League quarter-finals. We are fully aware of this, but we also have our own ambitions. The players are eager to play, and that’s the mentality we need.”

`I don`t expect anything` Roy Keane critiques England player performance in Thomas Tuchel`s debut game.

“I have never pressured any national team coach regarding player selection because I always hope my players are chosen, and I want them to feel proud to represent their country.”

“Naturally, no one is pleased if injuries occur. While we can’t prevent all accidents, we will make responsible decisions.”

“I recognize my responsibility to the players. I want them to be available and performing in the Champions League quarter-finals—all of them—because, as a football fan, I want to watch those matches at full strength.”

In related team news, Anthony Gordon has been sidelined with a hip injury and has returned to Newcastle for medical treatment.

The 24-year-old winger was forced off during Friday’s 2-0 victory over Albania.
