UFC Featherweight Champion Ilia Topuria, who has indicated a potential move to the lightweight division, recently commented on the possibility of facing UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev. Topuria stated that if Makhachev were to challenge for the lightweight title upon his return to the division, he would not be granted an immediate fight.
Following this assertion, Topuria further emphasized his stance, referencing promises made by others in the division:
“Who did what they promised? As soon as I have the belt, he can stand in line. It’s long, and many eyes are burning.”
