UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria explained why organizing a UFC tournament in Spain would be difficult for the promotion.
Topuria stated: “It`s all about television rights. To host a major tournament outside the US, it needs to be broadcast during prime time for American viewers. For Spain, this would mean 4-5 a.m.”
He added: “I don`t think it`s realistic to hold a tournament at night. Even as an athlete, I`m not prepared for that. I`ve already had the experience of performing in similar conditions in Abu Dhabi, and honestly, I wouldn`t want to repeat it.”
