Tennis Star Coco Gauff Launches Exclusive Miu Miu and New Balance Capsule Collection

Sports News

Tennis sensation Coco Gauff is set to blend high fashion with sport this spring and summer through an exclusive capsule collection created with her sponsor New Balance and the renowned designer label Miu Miu. The World No. 4 and 2023 US Open champion officially unveiled the new line on Wednesday.

This collection builds upon New Balance`s ongoing partnership with Miu Miu, the Italian fashion house established in 1993 by Miuccia Prada. While Gauff has previously donned Miu Miu for off-court events, such as custom gowns at the Oscars and a striking gold dress for her April 2024 Vogue cover, this collaboration zeroes in on performance and street style. It will provide her head-to-toe outfits for specific tournaments on the Hologic WTA Tour.

Gauff plans to debut three distinct, high-fashion looks at three upcoming events: the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, followed by tournaments in Berlin in June and Cincinnati in August. Each match kit`s color palette will be inspired by or tailored to the specific venue.

For Rome`s clay courts, she`ll sport a “classically elegant” navy and white scheme accented with red. On Berlin`s grass courts, she`ll switch to green and white with touches of sky blue. Returning to Cincinnati, where she previously claimed the title, her look will feature royal blue paired with red accents.

Complementing the outfits will be matching silk zip-front hoodies and track pants. Gauff will also wear a special custom edition of her signature shoe, the Coco CG2, re-envisioned by New Balance and Miu Miu.

Speaking about the design process, Gauff, a New Balance athlete since 2018, shared with Vogue, “I showed them what silhouettes I like, and we worked around that as a starting point. We were like, `What can we do in tennis that has either never been done or been done very few times?`”

The full New Balance x Miu Miu collection featuring Coco Gauff will be available for public purchase for a limited time starting September 10th, shortly after the US Open concludes.
