The Edmonton Oilers received some positive news on Friday regarding their goaltender situation.
While star players Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are sidelined with injuries for at least a week, goalie Stuart Skinner has been cleared to return to play after an injury scare.
Skinner was removed from Thursday’s game against the Jets due to concussion protocol following a collision near his net. However, coach Kris Knoblauch announced on Friday that Skinner is healthy and will be available for Saturday’s game against the Kraken.
This season, Skinner has played in 47 games for the Oilers, recording a .896 save percentage, 23 wins, and two shutouts.
