NHL

The St. Louis Blues have finalized a two-year contract with forward Pius Suter.

Announced on Wednesday, the agreement for the center carries an average annual value of $4.125 million.

Suter, 29 years old, is joining the Blues after achieving career-high performance metrics last season with the Vancouver Canucks. His successful year contributed to this new, more lucrative deal.

During his 81 games played last season, he recorded personal bests with 25 goals and 46 points. He also matched his highest career total for assists with 21.

Prior to his time with Vancouver, where he signed as a free agent before the 2023-24 season, Suter also played for the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks.

Across his 364 games played in the NHL, the Swiss player, who was not drafted, has accumulated a total of 162 points, consisting of 80 goals and 82 assists.

This new contract signifies a significant increase in salary for Suter, whose previous two-year agreement was valued at $1.6 million in total.
