
DETROIT — The Ottawa Senators grabbed an early lead with goals from Thomas Chabot and Tim Stutzle in the first period and managed to defeat the Detroit Red Wings with a score of 4-3 on Thursday night.
Goaltender Linus Ullmark was key to the Senators` victory, stopping 31 shots. David Perron and Michael Amadio also contributed goals for Ottawa. The Senators have been playing strong recently, winning eight of their last 11 games and currently holding the first wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
For the Red Wings, Lucas Raymond scored a goal and provided an assist. Patrick Kane and Vladimir Tarasenko also found the back of the net for Detroit. Despite scoring three goals in the third period, the Red Wings couldn`t overcome the deficit and suffered their fourth loss in the past five games.
