The Ottawa Senators have brought back forward Nick Cousins for another season.

The team announced on Tuesday that Cousins has signed a one-year contract valued at $825,000.

Cousins, who is 31 years old, spent the 2024-25 season with the Senators, having originally joined the team last off-season on a one-year free agent agreement. In 50 games played during that season, he registered six goals and accumulated a total of 15 points.

Before arriving in Ottawa, Cousins had stints with several other National Hockey League franchises. These included the Florida Panthers, with whom he celebrated a Stanley Cup victory in 2024, as well as the Nashville Predators, Vegas Golden Knights, Montreal Canadiens, Arizona Coyotes, and Philadelphia Flyers.

A native of Belleville, Ontario, Cousins was initially drafted by the Flyers 68th overall in the third round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
