Brady Tkachuk, the captain of the Ottawa Senators, left the game against the Carolina Hurricanes early but is expected to be ready for Game 1 of the playoffs.

The Senators can rest assured about their leader, as he confirmed his readiness for the first game of the series against the Toronto Maple Leafs, a key rival.

Tkachuk was taken out of the last regular season game against Carolina after the second period on Thursday. The club stated it was a precautionary measure.

After the game, Tkachuk told reporters that he would definitely play in the first game against the Maple Leafs on Sunday.

“Got hit in the face with a stick a couple of times,” Tkachuk commented on the situation after the game.

It is worth noting that the 25-year-old player returned to the ice after missing ten games due to an upper-body injury. In the current season, he has recorded 55 points (29 goals and 26 assists) in 71 games.

The Ottawa Senators are making their first playoff appearance since 2017, where they will face the Toronto Maple Leafs. Game 1 is scheduled for Sunday, April 20th, at 7:00 PM ET (4:00 PM PT) and will be broadcast on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
