Sekhudo explained why Topuria won’t be Makhachev’s next opponent

Former two-division UFC champion, Henry Cejudo, believes that lightweight titleholder Islam Makhachev will not make his next title defense against Ilia Topuria.

In an interview with Mike Bohn, Cejudo stated: “Islam has already given a chance to the featherweight champion before. Khabib is likely insisting that Topuria should get a title shot first. I think Islam is ready to fight anyone. However, Khabib might be holding back his friend. Based on this, I would speculate that Makhachev`s next title defense will be against Gaethje.”

Earlier, Topuria, who relinquished his featherweight title, reported that UFC management had promised him a fight with Makhachev.
