Sean O’Malley Reveals Retirement Timeline, Targets 7-8 More Years

MMA

Sean O’Malley, the former UFC bantamweight champion, has stated his intention to continue competing in mixed martial arts for approximately another 7 to 8 years.

Speaking in an interview with ESPN, O`Malley elaborated on his plans: “I want to fight until I’m 37 or 38 years old. I will compete for as long as my body can withstand the demands. To achieve that, I have to prioritize recovery just as seriously as training. I am currently doing that, and I believe it will pay off. I am 30 now, and I feel I have many good years ahead of me.”

It`s worth noting that O’Malley is scheduled for a rematch against the current 135-pound champion, Merab Dvalishvili. This highly anticipated bout will serve as the main event of UFC 316 on the night of June 8, taking place in Newark, USA.
