Alex DeBrincat and Simon Edvinsson each collected a pair of points to help the Detroit Red Wings beat the Utah Hockey Club 5-1.

Detroit Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek suffered a lower-body injury during Monday night`s game against the Utah Hockey Club, leaving the game early in the first period. The Red Wings went on to win 5-1.

The injury occurred just 1:38 into the game when Utah`s Dylan Guenther collided with Mrazek near the net after a breakaway attempt. Mrazek immediately showed discomfort, leaving the ice and heading to the locker room. Alex Lyon stepped in as his replacement, making 16 saves in the game.

Lyon commented on his readiness, stating, “I’m just staying ready every day. When you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready.”

Coach Todd McLellan confirmed that Mrazek will miss Tuesday`s game against Colorado and will be further assessed upon the team`s return to Detroit on Wednesday.

Prior to the injury, Mrazek`s season record stood at 12-21-2 with a 3.35 goals-against average and a .891 save percentage.

McLellan praised Lyon`s performance, especially considering the sudden circumstances. He noted that after an initial goal against, Lyon “really settled in and had a good game.”
