The New York Rangers are in the process of assembling their coaching staff under new head coach Mike Sullivan.
Reports indicate that Dave Quinn, Joe Sacco, and Ty Hennes are expected to join Sullivan`s team, according to Elliotte Friedman.
Sullivan recently took over the head coaching position for the Rangers after mutually agreeing to part ways with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He steps in following the dismissal of Peter Laviolette, which occurred after the team missed the playoffs.
This move marks a return to New York for Quinn, who served as the Rangers` head coach for three seasons before being let go in 2021. Subsequently, he coached the San Jose Sharks for three years and most recently worked as an assistant under Sullivan with the Penguins last season.
Sacco previously served as the interim head coach for the Boston Bruins after Jim Montgomery was fired in November. His tenure as interim coach concluded with a 25-30-7 record. Sacco`s history with the Bruins organization extends back to 2014.
Hennes has a long-standing working relationship with Sullivan, having been a part of his coaching staff in Pittsburgh since 2018. He initially worked as a skills coach and was promoted to an assistant coach role in 2022.
