UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett offered his perspective on why Islam Makhachev may have been hesitant to face Ilia Topuria.
According to Pimblett, if he were in Makhachev`s situation, he would have accepted the challenge from Topuria, aiming to secure a win before potentially facing another opponent in October in Abu Dhabi. However, `The Baddy` also mentioned he understands Makhachev`s decision to decline, noting that Islam has already defeated featherweights multiple times. He added that while a popular opinion suggests Topuria would beat Makhachev, he himself doesn`t share that belief.
