PGA Tour 2K25 has officially launched its second season, delivering fresh content developer HB Studios and publisher 2K Games hope will enhance the experience for virtual golf enthusiasts.
The standout feature of the new season is the Challenges mode. This mode uniquely combines intricate golf scenarios with elements reminiscent of role-playing games. Players are placed on a map where they can freely choose their path to complete various challenges and earn valuable rewards. While maintaining a foundation in authentic golf gameplay, some of the missions incorporate a more lighthearted, arcade-like style to provide variety.
Within these scenarios, players must satisfy specific criteria, navigating unique modifiers that can either aid or obstruct their efforts. An example given is the task of guiding shots precisely through a series of floating rings.
Several challenges are inspired by famous moments in golf history, tasking players with recreating some of the sport`s most iconic shots. HB Studios has committed to expanding and refreshing this mode with new content in each subsequent season. Additionally, a brand-new course specifically designed for the Challenges mode, developed in collaboration with Charles Schwab, is slated for release in the near future.
Furthermore, Season 2 introduces the legendary Old Course at St. Andrews to PGA Tour 2K25. This addition comes alongside a wide selection of new unlockable items, including various upgrades, enhancements, and cosmetic gear. Among the new gear is an alternative shot type known as the Long Flop. This shot offers slightly more power compared to the standard Flop Shot but maintains a similar high trajectory, spin, and limited roll, proving effective for minor distance corrections when a previous shot falls just short.
