PITTSBURGH — Sidney Crosby scored a power-play goal at 1:16 of overtime, securing a 1-0 victory for the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Ottawa Senators on Sunday.
Crosby is currently on a remarkable 10-game point streak, during which he has tallied eight goals and 15 points. His home point streak now extends to an impressive 13 games. The overtime power play opportunity for Pittsburgh arose from a hooking penalty called on Ottawa`s Ridly Greig with only three seconds remaining in the third period.
Goaltender Tristan Jarry was pivotal in the Penguins` win, stopping all 31 shots he faced to record his 20th career shutout and his first of the season. Jarry, who has faced scrutiny this season and even spent time in the AHL with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, bounced back strongly after conceding 11 goals in his previous three games.
On the Ottawa side, Anton Forsberg delivered a strong performance in net, making 34 saves.
