Oilers will miss McDavid and Draisaitl this week

The Edmonton Oilers are not anticipating the return of team leaders Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl this week.

According to head coach Kris Knoblauch, both players will miss all three games this week. This announcement was made after practice on Monday.

McDavid sustained a lower-body injury during last Thursday`s game against the Winnipeg Jets. He appeared to be injured in the second period and did not return to the game.

Despite what is considered a less productive year for him statistically, McDavid has still recorded 89 points (26 goals, 63 assists) in 62 games. Notably, he scored the overtime goal for Canada to win against the U.S. in the 4 Nations Face-Off final.

Draisaitl, on the other hand, was injured on March 18th in a game against Utah, suffering an undisclosed injury. He currently leads the league with 49 goals and tops the Oilers roster with 101 points.
