Oilers’ Walman Fined $10K for Conduct vs. Panthers

NHL

Monday`s Game 3 defeat for the Edmonton Oilers against the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final proved particularly expensive for one specific player.

Jake Walman, a defenseman for the Oilers, has been issued two separate fines by the NHL`s Department of Player Safety for incidents that occurred during the 6-1 rout, as announced on Tuesday.

The first fine, amounting to $5,000, was imposed for roughing Florida`s Matthew Tkachuk. The second penalty, also $5,000, was for unsportsmanlike conduct related to an interaction involving the Panthers` bench.

Both fines represent the maximum amounts allowed under the league`s collective bargaining agreement (CBA).
