NHL Action: Hughes Guides Devils to Victory Over Blackhawks

CHICAGO — Luke Hughes provided three assists, and Jesper Bratt added two, helping the New Jersey Devils snap their three-game losing streak with a victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Devils saw goals from Nathan Bastian, Timo Meier, Ondrej Palat, Dawson Mercer, and Stefan Noesen. Jesper Bratt continued his strong season, now with a career-high 84 points, including four assists in his last three games. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom stopped 21 shots in the win.

Nico Hischier extended his point streak to eight games by assisting on Stefan Noesen`s empty-net goal. Over his streak, Hischier has accumulated four goals and five assists since March 11.

In another game, the Vancouver Canucks defeated the New York Islanders 5-2, highlighted by Kiefer Sherwood`s three-point performance and a solid 26-save effort from Thatcher Demko.
