Newcastle United is currently believed to be leading the race to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The 24-year-old centre-back has attracted significant interest from several top Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, and Manchester City.
With just one year remaining on his contract come summer, this transfer window represents Crystal Palace`s final opportunity to sell Guehi for a substantial fee.
Newcastle`s previous attempt to sign the England international last summer with a £70 million bid was unsuccessful, as it was rejected by Palace.
Tottenham also saw a bid for Guehi turned down during the January transfer window. Reports suggest their offer faced similar rejection primarily due to the proposed terms and the late timing of the approach.
Chelsea, Guehi`s former academy club, are reportedly keen on bringing him back. Their new manager, Enzo Maresca, is looking to reinforce the defensive line and specifically wants a defender comfortable playing out from the back.
Maresca is also said to be an admirer of Bournemouth`s £50 million-rated defender Dean Huijsen, although Chelsea faces competition for defensive targets.
This season, Guehi has been a key player for the South London side, making 41 appearances across all competitions, including 32 league games where he has scored three goals.
Since moving to Crystal Palace in 2021 from Chelsea, after a loan spell at Swansea, Guehi has firmly established himself in the England national team setup.
He made his senior international debut under Gareth Southgate in 2022 and started every match for England at Euro 2024, only missing the quarter-final against Switzerland due to suspension.
