Max Homa and Joe Greiner, his caddie of many years and childhood friend, have decided to end their professional relationship.
At the Valero Texas Open on Thursday, Homa was seen with veteran caddie Bill Harke instead of Greiner.
In a statement to PGATour.com on Thursday, Homa expressed gratitude, saying, “Joe and I created unforgettable memories, and I am incredibly thankful for all his dedication.”
Homa continued, “We have decided to go our separate ways, and I will miss having him by my side. I will always cherish the time spent walking the course with one of my closest friends.”
Homa, 34, became a prominent player on the PGA Tour later in his career, securing six victories between 2019 and 2023. He reached a world ranking as high as No. 5 and achieved a third-place tie at last year`s Masters. However, his performance has declined in the past year.
Homa`s current world ranking is No. 78, and he has recently missed the cut in four consecutive tournaments. His best finish this year is a tie for 26th place.
The Texas Open is the last tournament before the Masters, the first major of the season, which begins next week. Homa had a difficult start at the Texas Open, scoring a 4-over 76 in the first round on Thursday.
