MANCHESTER UNITED have beaten Lyon 7-6 on aggregate to progress to the semi-finals of the Europa League in a dramatic match.
Manuel Ugarte opened the scoring in the 10th minute after a great team move.
Diogo Dalot extended United`s lead just before halftime.
Lyon fought back in the second half with goals from Corentin Tolisso in the 70th minute and Nicolas Tagliafico, sending the match to extra time at 2-2 on the night.
Despite Tolisso being sent off for Lyon just before the end of normal time, Rayan Cherki put Lyon ahead in extra time, and Alexandre Lacazette`s penalty made it 6-4 on aggregate.
However, an incredible seven-minute spell saw United turn the game around with goals from Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo, and a late winner from Harry Maguire, securing their place in the Europa League semi-finals.
Manchester United will now play Athletic Club in the semi-finals.
