Manchester City has indicated that Erling Haaland might miss a significant part of the season due to an ankle injury.
The forward was taken off the field during their FA Cup quarter-final victory against Bournemouth on Sunday.




Pep Guardiola had hoped for positive news, despite the striker being seen on crutches after the game.
It appears Haaland is facing a lengthy period out of action, as City released a concerning injury update.
The Premier League champions informed fans that Haaland has indeed injured his ankle.
He is scheduled to consult a specialist after undergoing initial tests today.
There are indications that Haaland might be sidelined for almost the entire remaining season, possibly including the FA Cup semi-final next month against Nottingham Forest. The club statement only mentioned a potential return for the Club World Cup.
City`s official statement reads: “Manchester City FC confirms that Erling Haaland has sustained an injury to his left ankle.
“The Norwegian forward was injured during Sunday’s FA Cup quarter-final victory away at AFC Bournemouth.
“Erling underwent preliminary tests in Manchester on Monday morning and will now seek specialist advice to determine the full extent of the injury.
“Assessments are ongoing to ascertain a complete prognosis. The expectation is that Erling will recover in time to participate further this season, including the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.
“Everyone at the Club wishes Erling a swift recovery, and mancity.com will provide regular updates on his rehabilitation.”
Man City supporters are now hoping Haaland can recover in time for the crucial part of the season.
The player was seen leaving Bournemouth in a protective boot on Sunday.
Due to the injury, Haaland was unable to drive his new £350,000 Aston Martin DBX 707 upon returning to Manchester.
Instead, a City staff member collected the lime green vehicle.
City is set to play against Leicester on Wednesday before the derby against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. Champions League qualification for next season is still very much at stake.
