Liverpool and Everton reportedly made a last-minute attempt to reschedule their upcoming Merseyside Derby, originally set for next Wednesday, April 2nd at Anfield.

Both clubs were interested in moving the game forward by 24 hours, primarily to accommodate Arsenal`s schedule.
According to reports, both Liverpool and Everton saw the advantage of shifting the televised derby to Tuesday. This was because Arsenal is scheduled to play Fulham on Tuesday evening before facing Everton in a lunchtime match on Saturday.
Moving the derby would have given Arsenal additional time to rest and prepare for their game at Goodison Park.
Considering Arsenal are Liverpool`s main contenders for the title, Liverpool and their manager, Arne Slot, were open to the derby being moved.
However, the Premier League turned down the request.
League officials reportedly stood firm because the original Wednesday date did not force either Merseyside club to play two matches within 60 hours, which is the minimum time allowed between games.
Liverpool currently tops the Premier League table, holding a 12-point lead over Arsenal with nine games remaining.
Meanwhile, Everton is in 14th place, sitting comfortably above the relegation zone.
In their previous encounter last month at Goodison Park, Everton secured a dramatic 2-2 draw against Liverpool, with James Tarkowski scoring a late equalizer.
