Leon Draisaitl Set to Return to Oilers Lineup Soon

Leon Draisaitl`s recovery is progressing faster than that of his Edmonton Oilers teammate, Connor McDavid.

Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch informed reporters on Wednesday that Draisaitl is getting closer to rejoining the team`s lineup.

“Leon will be back sooner than Connor. We anticipate Leon`s return within approximately a week, possibly even sooner, while Connor`s recovery will take longer,” Knoblauch stated to reporters following Draisaitl`s participation in the morning skate.

Draisaitl sustained an undisclosed injury on March 18th during a game against Utah. He currently leads the league in goals with 49 and tops the Oilers`scoring chart with 101 points.

McDavid appeared to injure his lower body during a game against the Winnipeg Jets last Thursday. He missed the final shift of the second period and did not return to the game.
