UFC light heavyweight contender Johnny Walker has offered his perspective on top division fighter Magomed Ankalaev.
Walker described Ankalaev as a highly “technical fighter” and a “high-level professional.” He acknowledged Ankalaev`s strong showing, particularly noting his performance against Alex Pereira. Reflecting on their own encounters, Walker admitted that he was not at the required level to overcome Ankalaev during their first meeting. According to Walker, Magomed was skilled enough to capitalize on “one small mistake” leading to the defeat.
Regarding their rematch, Walker pinpointed his crucial error: “after the kick, I should have pulled my leg back [but I left it in front]. As a result, Magomed caught my leg and knocked me out,” he explained. Ultimately, Walker lauded Ankalaev`s capabilities, stating, “Ankalaev is a championship-level fighter.”
