Jimmy Snuggerud finally becomes a member of the St. Louis Blues.

The Blues officially announced on Friday the signing of Snuggerud to a three-year, entry-level contract. The former University of Minnesota captain is expected to join the team for practice starting Monday.

Snuggerud was selected by St. Louis with the 23rd overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft.

Last year, the 20-year-old right-handed forward decided to play one more season for the University of Minnesota, aiming to complete unfinished business after an early exit from the Frozen Four tournament.

In his final season with Minnesota, where he was team captain, Snuggerud excelled, leading the team with 24 goals, 27 assists, and a total of 51 points in 40 games. His performance earned him a spot on the Big Ten First All-Star Team for the second consecutive year and recognition as a top-ten finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, given to the NCAA`s best player.

Despite Snuggerud`s efforts, the Gophers experienced another early departure from this year`s Frozen Four, losing in overtime to the University of Massachusetts in the first round. Snuggerud contributed two goals in the game.

Snuggerud also represented the United States at the World Junior Championship, where he scored five goals in six games.
