Jason Robertson Hat Trick Propels Stars to Victory Over Oilers

NHL

EDMONTON – Jason Robertson achieved a natural hat trick in the second period, contributing significantly to the Dallas Stars` 4-3 triumph over the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday. This win marks the Stars` third consecutive victory.

Wyatt Johnston also scored for Dallas (46-21-4), who are on a strong run with a 4-0-2 record in their last six games. Roope Hintz played a key role, assisting on all three of Robertson`s goals.

The Oilers (41-25-5) mounted a late comeback attempt with goals from Corey Perry, Adam Henrique, and Zach Hyman. This followed an injury to their starting goalie, Stuart Skinner, who was unfortunately kneed in the head by Mikko Rantanen. Skinner was replaced by Calvin Pickard in the third period.

Edmonton was already facing challenges, missing both their captain Connor McDavid and star forward Leon Draisaitl due to injuries. Prior to this game, the Oilers had a record of 3-1-1 in their last five outings.

In goal for Dallas, Jake Oettinger was outstanding, stopping 42 shots to secure the win. Stuart Skinner made 17 saves before his exit, and Calvin Pickard faced three shots in relief, stopping them all.

Key Points

Stars

Defenseman Thomas Harley continues to impress, stepping up in the absence of top defender Miro Heiskanen, who is sidelined with a knee injury. Harley, a first-round pick in 2019, has been productive recently, with four goals and 10 points in his last nine games. He added two assists in Wednesday`s game, matching his career-high of 47 points.

Oilers

The Oilers faced further injury concerns in the second period when two key players left the game within minutes of each other. Zach Hyman went down awkwardly after a collision and headed to the dressing room. Shortly after, Evan Bouchard was hit by a shot and also left the ice. Fortunately for Edmonton, both Hyman and Bouchard were able to return to the game. However, the relief was temporary as Stuart Skinner had to leave the game in the third period after a collision resulted in a knee to his head.
