UFC welterweight contender Ian Garry has commented on his recent win against Carlos Prates. Furthermore, Garry confirmed that he is designated as the backup participant for the welterweight title confrontation between Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena.
The championship fight is scheduled to take place on May 10th as part of the UFC 315 event in Montreal, Canada.
Reflecting on his victory and opponent, Garry stated:
“Carlos is a legend, I respect him, he had a great winning streak, but I said I would outclass him, and I believe I did.”
Following the fight, Garry spoke about his motivations and upcoming plans, emphasizing his readiness:
“My main goal in this game is to prove that I am a real fighter. I have the blood of Irish warriors in me. And what’s next? I came out in 21 days against Shavkat, in 25 days against Carlos, and in two weeks I will fly to Canada and officially back up the title fight. And I am the next contender!”
