WINNIPEG — Cole Perfetti has truly made his mark.
He is no longer just a player who scores in spurts; he has become a consistent top-six forward, not just a support player or power-play specialist.
Perfetti has developed into a significant offensive force capable of changing the game.
His progress was perfectly highlighted by his goal on Sunday, which secured the Winnipeg Jets` 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks.
Late in the third period, Perfetti skillfully maneuvered around Derek Forbort, slipping the puck between the defender`s legs, and then lifted it into the top corner of the net past Vancouver goalie Thatcher Demko as he fell.
“Everyone just exchanged amazed looks,” said Mason Appleton. “Goals like that are rare.”
