Veteran NHL forward Gustav Nyquist is joining a new team.

The Winnipeg Jets have signed the 13-year league veteran to a one-year contract valued at $3.25 million, the team announced on Wednesday.

Nyquist, 35, registered 28 points from 11 goals and 17 assists over 79 games last season, splitting his time between the Nashville Predators and the Minnesota Wild.

This signing comes a season after the left-shooting winger achieved a career-best 75 points while playing for the Predators in 2023-24.

Selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the fourth round of the 2008 draft, Nyquist spent the initial eight years of his career with the Detroit franchise. He was traded to the San Jose Sharks in 2019 and subsequently played for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Wild, and Predators before finalizing his deal with the Jets.
