Amid uncertainty regarding veteran defenseman Alex Pietrangelo, the Golden Knights have chosen to secure one of their young blueliners.
The team announced that defenseman Kaedan Korczak has signed a four-year contract extension valued at $13 million in total, carrying an average annual value (AAV) of $3.25 million.
This new agreement will keep the 24-year-old Korczak with the team through the 2029-30 season.
Korczak played a career-high 40 games for the Golden Knights last season, recording 10 assists and achieving a plus-15 rating.
Hailing from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Korczak was originally a second-round pick (41st overall) by Vegas in the 2019 NHL Draft.
In his NHL career since being drafted, he has accumulated one goal and 20 assists over 77 games at the NHL level.
