UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre recently weighed in on the anticipated clash between current heavyweight champion Jon Jones and interim titleholder Tom Aspinall.
Offering valuable perspective, St-Pierre advised Aspinall based on his own past challenges. Speaking in an interview with Ariel Helwani, GSP recalled, “I remember after losing to Matt Serra I made the mistake of fixating on him and an immediate rematch. But I fought a few times before that happened.” He cautioned Aspinall against falling into the same trap: “If Tom focuses solely on Jon Jones and Jones doesn’t come back quickly, Aspinall will focus on the wrong things. He needs to distract himself and think about what to do next.”
