Garry: “I still don’t consider that I lost to Rakhmonov”

Top Irish UFC welterweight Ian Garry recently spoke about his fight against Shavkat Rakhmonov, which took place last December.

Garry maintains his view on the bout, stating, “I still believe that I did not lose that fight. He was struggling to breathe and was grateful that the fight ended. But I was ready to continue.” He described his primary feeling after the fight as joy, expressing significant pride in his performance against the division`s highly dangerous opponent on short notice.

According to Garry, the encounter with Rakhmonov solidified his conviction that he is destined to become the best in the world and a champion. He anticipates a future rematch where he can demonstrate his superiority as a fighter.

Looking ahead, Garry is scheduled to return to the octagon this weekend at the UFC on ESPN 66 event in Las Vegas, USA. His upcoming opponent will be Brazilian fighter Carlos Prates.
