McBurnie, who plays for Scotland internationally and grew up in Leeds, has clearly made an effort to integrate since moving to Spain.

He demonstrated his Spanish skills in a TV interview after his team`s 3-1 victory over Getafe on Saturday.

After scoring his team`s second goal, McBurnie conducted the entire interview in Spanish, which impressed the interviewer.

The 28-year-old said in Spanish that it was a very good day for his team and they need more wins and points.

He added that it was a great day, but they need to continue working for more.

McBurnie also expressed his desire to score more goals, mentioning that this year has been challenging for him and he wants to help the team.

Fans quickly praised McBurnie for his dedication to learning the language.

One fan on X questioned if it was really him speaking Spanish.

Another fan commented on how impressed they were with McBurnie`s integration into life in Spain, both on and off the field.

A third person was pleased to see him doing well and proving his doubters wrong.

McBurnie started his professional career at Bradford City before having a successful year at Swansea in 2018.

As a striker, he scored 22 goals in 42 Championship matches, which led to a £20 million transfer to Sheffield United in the Premier League.

His move to Las Palmas in the Canary Islands on a three-year contract happened last summer.

After experiencing a goal drought for 11 games at the start of 2025, McBurnie has now scored in two consecutive games, including the one against Getafe.
