Because of Uefa rules, Tuchel needed to remove three players from the larger group of 26 that he picked for this international week.

Gibbs-White, Quansah, and Aaron Ramsdale were not in the squad against Albania, and Ramsdale is out again for this game.

For the game against Latvia at Wembley tonight, Ramsdale is joined by Tino Livramento and Anthony Gordon as players who will not be playing.

Gordon had to leave the England camp because of a hip injury he got on Friday. This injury made him leave the field injured after the last game.

Livramento did not play in the 2-0 win over Albania and will have to wait longer for another chance to play for England, after his one appearance against Ireland last year.

Because Livramento is out, Quansah might get his first England cap.

Quansah usually plays as a centre-back but has also played as a right-back sometimes, so he might play some minutes in tonight`s game.

Tuchel seems ready to give chances to several players as he tries to find the best team balance.

He mentioned: “We need to make sure we choose the right way to find the best team.”

“If it means some very good and talented players are not in the squad, this can happen. In the next year and a half, it`s important to find the right team, not just the 26 most talented players.”

“We need to get the team right. We need the right team spirit because playing in qualifying games is different from playing in big tournaments.”
