Former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier recently spoke about his highly anticipated fight against Max Holloway, a former champion in a lower division.
Scheduled for July 20th at UFC 318 in New Orleans, Louisiana, this bout is expected to be the final fight of Poirier`s career, a `farewell` for `The Diamond`.
Reflecting on the upcoming event, Poirier expressed his determination to savor the experience and deliver a memorable performance. As quoted by ESPN, he said, “I really want to enjoy the moment, to be in the moment. This will be my last opportunity to experience all these emotions: the jitters before the fight, walking to the octagon. This will not happen again in the future. So I want to put on a real show, to leave beautifully. Let this be the fight of the year. And I’m ready for the fact that I might need stitches.”
