Russian rugby forward Dmitry Dronov has officially determined the next destination in his professional career. He has signed a one-year contract with the French club RC Albi.
The announcement was made by RC Albi, confirming that Dronov will be joining their squad for the upcoming season. Albi competes in France`s National 1 division, which stands as the third tier within the French professional rugby structure.
This move represents a significant transition for Dronov, who previously played for Castres. Castres is a club with a strong presence in the higher echelons of French rugby, including the Top 14 league. Relocating to a team in National 1 presents a distinct challenge and opportunity – perhaps a chance for a prominent role and consistent game time in a highly competitive third division.
For RC Albi, the acquisition of a player like Dronov, with experience from a higher-level French club, signals clear intent. It suggests the club is actively reinforcing its roster with seasoned talent as it prepares to tackle the demands of National 1 and potentially pursue ambitions of climbing further up the league ladder.
