Jack Della Maddalena, who recently claimed the UFC welterweight title, shared his thoughts on his bout against Belal Muhammad.
The Australian fighter secured a unanimous decision victory over the American in the main event of UFC 315 in Montreal, Canada, held today, May 11.
After the fight, Maddalena commented: “I saw the fight like that; I feel great. He applied pressure, I knew I had to fight smart in the standings, I should have been clearer in my striking, but it is what it is. When you fight a pressuring wrestler like Belal, you need to fight smart. When I saw that there were 30 seconds left, I understood that I was winning the fight, but I decided to go forward for the finish. Australia, now we have three champions!”
