Connor Zary to Miss Weeks with Lower-Body Injury

NHL

Calgary Flames forward Connor Zary will be out for several weeks due to a lower-body injury, the team has announced.

The Flames received some relief as reports indicated Zary did not fracture his leg during Thursday`s game against the Dallas Stars. However, the forward will still be sidelined for a period of time.

Zary was injured in an awkward collision with Rantanen in the third period and was unable to continue playing.

During the third period, Rantanen lost his footing and slid into Zary near the boards. Zary`s knee appeared to get caught, bending at an unnatural angle as he fell.

The 23-year-old was visibly in pain, clutching his left knee. He remained on the ice while trainers attended to him, and then teammates assisted him off the ice.

This season, the Saskatoon native has scored 13 goals and accumulated 26 points in 53 games.
