A concerning moment occurred at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday when Calgary Flames center Connor Zary was injured.
Zary had to leave the game in the third period following an awkward collision with Dallas Stars winger Mikko Rantanen and did not return.
During the third period, Rantanen lost his footing and slid into Zary near the sideboards. As Zary fell, his knee appeared to twist at an unnatural angle.
The 23-year-old showed clear signs of pain, holding his left knee. He remained on the ice while trainers attended to him, and was then assisted off the ice by his teammates.
This injury is particularly worrying for the Flames as Zary previously suffered a significant knee injury in January, which sidelined him for almost a month.
Coach Ryan Huska did not have any updates on Zary`s condition after the game.
This season, the Saskatoon native has scored 13 goals and accumulated 26 points in 53 games.
