The Edmonton Oilers anticipate having their full lineup available as they prepare for the Stanley Cup Final.
Forward Connor Brown is projected to be “fine” and ready to play in Game 1 of the Final, according to head coach Kris Knoblauch. Brown had missed the last two games of the Western Conference Final due to an undisclosed injury.
The 31-year-old participated in Sunday`s practice session. He wore a grey warm-up jersey and skated alongside the team`s extra fifth line.
“I`m pretty sure and quite confident he`ll be fine for Game 1,” Knoblauch stated when addressing reporters.
Brown sustained his injury during Game 3 against the Dallas Stars following a hit delivered by Stars defenseman Alexander Petrovic.
It`s worth noting the winger had been managing health issues even before this recent injury. He was listed as a game-time decision for Game 1 of the previous series and did not take part in the morning skate before Game 2.
During the regular season, Brown recorded 30 points, scoring 13 goals and adding 17 assists over 82 games. In the playoffs, he has added eight points (five goals, three assists) for Edmonton.
Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final is scheduled for June 4.
