Bringing high fashion to the tennis court, World No. 4 Coco Gauff is set to showcase stunning on- and off-court looks this spring and summer. Her fashion endeavors are made possible through a unique collaboration between her sponsor, New Balance, and the renowned designer label, Miu Miu.
The 2023 US Open champion recently launched a new capsule collection resulting from this partnership. The collection integrates with New Balance`s ongoing collaboration with Miu Miu, the esteemed Italian fashion house founded in 1993 by Prada`s lead designer, Miuccia Prada. Gauff has previously been seen in Miu Miu designs away from the tennis circuit, including custom gowns for the Oscars and a memorable dress for her April 2024 Vogue cover shoot. This latest collection, however, is distinctly centered on sport and street style, designed to outfit her entirely for specific Hologic WTA Tour events.
Gauff plans to unveil three distinct, high-fashion outfits across three upcoming tournaments. She will first debut a look at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, followed by appearances at tournaments in Berlin in June and Cincinnati in August. Each outfit`s color palette is specifically inspired by or based on the characteristics of the event venue.
At the clay courts in Rome, Gauff will wear a classically elegant navy and white kit accented with red. For the grass courts of Berlin, her attire will shift to green and white with hints of sky blue. When she returns to the United States for the Cincinnati tournament, which she won two years prior, she will don a fitting royal blue ensemble combined with additional red accents.
Completing each look are matching silk zip-front hoodies and track pants. On her feet, Gauff will sport a custom, co-branded version of her signature shoe, the Coco CG2, specifically reimagined by New Balance and Miu Miu for this collection.
Gauff, who has been partnered with New Balance since 2018, provided input on the designs. Discussing the creative process, she revealed, “I showed them what silhouettes I like, and we worked around that as a starting point.” She added, “We were like, `What can we do in tennis that has either never been done or been done very few times?`”
The complete New Balance x Miu Miu featuring Coco Gauff collection will be available for public purchase for a limited duration shortly after the conclusion of the US Open. The scheduled release date is September 10th.
