Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo has suggested organizing a fight between the rising stars Ilia Topuria and Paddy Pimblett.
Cejudo stated, “I truly believe that Ilia Topuria should be Paddy Pimblett`s next opponent. Why does this make sense? For Paddy, defeating Topuria would almost guarantee a title shot. For Topuria, a victory would also bring him significantly closer to fighting for the championship. If Topuria views a fight with Pimblett as an easy win, why even consider facing Charles Oliveira? Ilia and Paddy are currently two of the most prominent figures in MMA. Pimblett`s reputation wouldn`t suffer greatly from a loss to Topuria. However, a win would dramatically increase his global popularity. Team Makhachev is insisting that Ilia prove himself in the lightweight division. And what better way to do that than by competing against a strong lightweight like Pimblett?”
