Former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki shared exciting news on social media Sunday: she is pregnant with her third child.
Wozniacki, pictured on the beach with her husband, retired NBA player David Lee, and their two children, referenced Lee`s basketball background in her announcement.
`Officially switching to zone defense!` she joked, indicating that she and the 2015 NBA champion will soon be outnumbered by their kids. Fellow tennis stars like Karolina Pliskova, Eugenie Bouchard, and Angelique Kerber, who is also expecting her second child, sent their congratulations to the growing family.
The couple are parents to daughter Olivia, 3, and son James, 2, both born during Wozniacki`s break from the WTA Tour. The 2018 Australian Open champion, age 34, initially retired from tennis after the 2020 Australian Open but made a comeback in the summer of 2023.
Wozniacki stated upon her return that she still had goals in tennis and wanted to be a positive example for her children.
`I want to show my kids that you can pursue your dreams regardless of age or life role,` she explained.
Since returning to the sport, Wozniacki has twice reached the fourth round of the US Open and took a set from Coco Gauff at the 2023 US Open. Last year, her achievements included reaching the quarterfinals in Indian Wells, the third round at Wimbledon, representing Denmark at the Paris Olympics, and re-entering the Top 100 of the WTA Rankings.
Even though she hasn`t competed this year, Wozniacki was present at the Australian Open as a commentator and carried the trophy onto Rod Laver Arena on the tournament`s first day.
