Reports suggest that Carlo Ancelotti is close to departing from his role as manager at Real Madrid.

Speculation about the Italian manager`s departure from the Bernabeu intensified after Los Blancos were eliminated from the Champions League quarter-finals by Arsenal earlier this month.

The former manager of AC Milan and Chelsea has long been considered a prime candidate by the Brazilian national football team.

According to reporter Fabrizio Romano, the Brazilian Football Federation is now reportedly “very confident” they will secure his appointment. Romano stated on X (formerly Twitter) that Brazil is seeking to finalize a deal in the coming days, with the expectation that Ancelotti would take charge before the Club World Cup. Federation representatives are reportedly still in Spain to negotiate, awaiting steps or a decision from Real Madrid.

Should Ancelotti leave, Jurgen Klopp is being mentioned as a potential successor at the Bernabeu.

Klopp, aged 57, took on the role of Global Head of Football for Red Bull last year, shortly after departing Liverpool.

However, Brazilian media outlet UOL suggests that the German is reportedly “unhappy” with his current position.

Consequently, he is allegedly open to receiving offers for managerial roles, including from both Real Madrid and the Brazilian national team.

There are also claims that the former Liverpool manager might be willing to leave Red Bull to potentially take over from Julian Nagelsmann as head coach of the German national team.

Ancelotti himself addressed the rumors of his departure last week, asserting that he is still enjoying his time at Real Madrid.

He commented: “I love being here [at Madrid] and I hope this will last as long as possible. The honeymoon continues. I’m very happy, contented. There is a lot of pressure, true, but that is always the case at this point of the season. I’m happy with the club, they know this has been a tough season. Stress is fuel – it doesn’t bother me, it gives me more energy.”

Adding to Real Madrid`s recent setbacks, their season concluded poorly on Saturday night with a dramatic 3-2 loss to rivals Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey final.
