Canucks Rally in the Third Period to Beat Islanders

NEW YORK — Kiefer Sherwood scored twice and provided an assist, while Thatcher Demko made 26 saves as the Vancouver Canucks defeated the New York Islanders 5-2 on Wednesday night.

Aatu Raty, Derek Forbort, and Teddy Blueger also contributed goals for Vancouver in the victory.

For New York, Casey Cizikas and Tony DeAngelo found the net. Ilya Sorokin stopped 15 shots before being replaced early in the third period by Marcus Hogberg, who made five saves in relief.

The Canucks broke a 2-1 deficit by scoring three goals within a span of 7:06 in the third period, securing their win after the Islanders had briefly taken the lead in the second period.
