Canucks Beat Sharks 2-1 in Overtime Thriller

VANCOUVER — In a thrilling overtime finish, Jake DeBrusk scored the game-winning goal with just 17.6 seconds remaining, leading the Vancouver Canucks to a 2-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Monday.

Brock Boeser`s shot missed the net but bounced favorably off the boards back to DeBrusk, who capitalized and scored his 28th goal of the season in the dying seconds of overtime.

Linus Karlsson put the Canucks (38-29-14) on the scoreboard in the third period, marking his third goal this season. Goaltender Nikita Tolopilo made an impressive NHL debut, stopping 15 of 16 shots.

For the Sharks (21-49-11), rookie Macklin Celebrini scored his 25th goal of the season during a power play in the second period. Alexandar Georgiev was solid in net for San Jose, making 35 saves.
