Canucks Add Pierre-Olivier Joseph on One-Year Contract

The Vancouver Canucks have bolstered their defensive group with a new addition.

The club announced on Wednesday that defenseman Pierre-Olivier Joseph has signed a one-year contract valued at $775,000.

Joseph, who is 26 years old, spent the previous season playing for both the St. Louis Blues and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Across 47 games, he recorded three assists.

Originally from Laval, Quebec, Joseph was the 23rd overall selection by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2017 NHL Draft. He made his National Hockey League debut with the Penguins during the 2020-21 season.

To date, he has participated in 194 NHL games, achieving a career total of eight goals and 32 assists.
